Greenery at Changi Jewel

Greening Singapore has always been a consistent effort over the past 50 over years. Likewise, in our latest attraction, Jewel Changi, we also practice our mantra. Way to go on the greenery transforming Singapore from Garden City to a City in a Garden.

With greenery at Jewel Changi, while walking around, you will feel like you’re in a miniature City in a Garden with about 2,200 trees and palms, as well as over 100,000 shrubs, planted all around.

All the greenery that you find in Jewel Changi is well curated by the team. Not only do the plants have to be aesthetic, but they also need to thrive in the given light level, temperature and humidity.

The plants are sourced from various countries, pruned and transported via sea to Singapore. They were placed in a nursery where they nursed back to health and also allowing them to acclimatise with our weather.

Planting the massive amount of greens at Jewel Changi ain’t an easy task and so is the maintenance. There is a team of about 30 people who are undertaking maintenance work. They have to check on the plants, weed, prune and rinse the dust off the plant surface.

Green spaces can help to reduce stress, the travel stress in this particular case. Head into this crown Jewel where you can enjoy some peaceful moment, admire the greens before/ after your plane ride. It can help with travel anxiety.
