Grilled Satay

Grilled satay is one of my favourite food to have while dining with family or friends because they are easy bites and so tasty!

This amazing delicacy is popular in South East Asia, with the origin tracing back to Java, Indonesia. In the past, there were no clear borders between Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore hence it has become a fusion dish of this region and every ethic group or region became to come up with their own take to this dish.

Grilling it over charcoal provides a nice char to the meat and dipping the skewer into a bowl of peanut sauce before taking a bite, allowing the juice of the meat to ooze into the mouth is heavenly. I am salivating as I am describing this!

To get a good plate of satay is not as easy as it sounds because I believe it takes 3 important factors to achieve the perfection.

1. Marination

2. Grilling time and heat over the charcoal fire

3. Peanut sauce dip

Personally, I feel that if it lacks in one, it will somehow destroy the dish. I hold high standards to satays and it is best (and sinful) eaten as supper!
