Alkaff Mansion was built in 1918 for the Alkaff family. The Alkaff family were one of the prominent Arabic pioneers who came to Singapore in the 1800s and settled in. They made their wealth by trading spices, coffee and sugar between India and Indonesia.
This is their holiday home where the family would gather over the weekend to relax. Sometimes they even organise high society parties here as all the rich and famous rub shoulders.
Unfortunately, after World War II, the Alkaff family suffered business losses and had to sell off a number of properties which includes this mansion.
Fast forward to a century later, this place is now an F&B lifestyle concept with 3 different establishments. A Spanish restaurant, a bar as well as a pet-friendly cafe.
